WOMEN’S HORMONE HEALTH
Hormonal Imbalances in Women
Hormones influence nearly every system in a woman's body: sleep, mood, metabolism, bone density, libido, and more. When levels begin to shift, symptoms can feel disconnected and easy to dismiss. At Rural Authentic Wellness, they're not dismissed.
Perimenopause
The transition leading up to menopause often begins in the mid-30s to early 40s.
- Irregular or unpredictable periods
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Sleep disruptions
- Mood changes and brain fog
- Vaginal dryness
Revive Microneedling with PRP
12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, typically in the early 50s.
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Sleep disruption or insomnia
- Changes in libido
- Joint or muscle aches
- Mood Changes and irritability
MEN’S HORMONE HEALTH
Low Testosterone and Men's Hormone Care
Testosterone levels decline naturally starting in a man's mid-30s. Low testosterone isn't just about libido; it affects energy, muscle mass, mood, cognitive clarity, and metabolic health. It's consistently underdiagnosed in primary care settings.
Common Symptoms
- Persistent fatigue or low energy
- Mood changes or irritability
- Increased body fat (midsection)who actually knows them
- Reduced sex drive or function
- Difficulty building muscle mass
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
Membership required for men's hormone care. To receive hormone health services at Rural Authentic Wellness, men must be enrolled as clinic members. A Rural Authentic Wellness membership gives you a consistent provider who knows your baseline, can monitor your hormone levels over time, and adjust your plan as needed, which matters especially for hormone care.
Initial HRT visit: $165 (member rate). Follow-up hormone appointments are included in your membership. Men's hormone care typically requires more frequent monitoring and appointments than women's, given the ongoing nature of testosterone management. Your provider will walk you through what that schedule looks like at your first visit.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the signs of a hormonal imbalance in women?
Common signs include irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, low libido, unexplained weight gain, and joint discomfort. These can appear at various life stages and aren't always tied to menopause specifically. If they're consistent or affecting your quality of life, a hormone evaluation is a reasonable next step.
2. Do men need to be a clinic member to receive hormone care?
Yes. Men's hormone care at Rural Authentic Wellness requires an active clinic membership. This is because hormone management for men requires ongoing monitoring and regular follow-up appointments, which are most effectively handled through a consistent provider relationship.
3. Can I get my initial hormone appointment via telehealth?
Yes, as long as the required labs can be completed before the visit. Rural Authentic Wellness will order your labs and send the requisition to a lab near you. Please note that lab costs at outside facilities are handled directly between you and that lab — Rural Authentic Wellness has no involvement in outside lab billing or costs.
4. Does Rural Authentic Wellness treat perimenopause?
Yes. We work with women experiencing perimenopause symptoms and those who have already reached menopause. Our approach involves a thorough assessment, hormone testing, and a care plan tailored to your specific symptoms and goals — not a standardized protocol.
5. Can I get hormone care without insurance?
Yes. Rural Authentic Wellness operates on a direct-pay model; you pay directly with no insurance involvement. Hormone care is available as part of a membership or as a standalone option for women. Pricing is listed above.
6. How do I communicate with my provider between appointments?
Members use Elation Patient Passport as the primary patient portal for medical questions, prescription requests, and lab result review. Spruce is available for more immediate needs. No phone tree, no hold music, no waiting for a callback from someone who doesn't know your name.
